In a strategic move that would later transform parcel sorting operations, SortLease LLC acquired the innovative textile sorting technology developed by the Fibersort consortium. This acquisition provided the technological foundation for what would become SortLease's industry-leading automated sorting systems.
The original Fibersort machine represented cutting-edge automated sorting technology capable of revolutionizing textile-to-textile recycling of post-consumer textiles. Using Near Infrared (NIR) based technology, the system could categorize textiles into 45 different fractions based on fiber composition and color.
